Sometimes your home can be the best location for a family photo session. Especially if its your kids’ first. During my time with this sweet family of 5, we captured this family’s deep bond as well as capturing the personalities of each child. I adore these visual memories of FAMILY LOVE. There is nothing better.
I always love photographing in my hometown of DC. And to photograph in the famous Bishop’s Garden at the National Cathedral - it is always memorable. And with this fantastic family, the experience was a total home run! Sweetness, sister love, fun and memories made. You can’t ask for anything better!
It’s so nice to connect with a family and grow along with them. I have been photographing these two precious boys since they were born. Every year, our photography session captures their newest stage in their childhood. Years from now, their parents will have so many beautiful visual memories of these special time in their lives.
There’s nothing like brothers. One moment they are jumping on each other…wrestling each other to the ground. The next moment they are hugging on each other, laughing and smiling…and maybe threatening each other with wedgies. If they get in a fight, they surely get over it quickly. I have photographed this brother duo for over 5 years and they have always been consistent with how they show their love for one another. I hope they hold onto this intense relationship into adulthood. It makes me smile for sure.
I’ve known this woman, a fellow photographer, for years. She’s been photographing portraits professional but, like all busy professionals, she has rarely gotten her own family (with herself included) captured. Now, a mother of 3, she got emotional when she saw her newest family portraits for the first time. Through seeing these portraits, it really hit her that she was a mom (for real!)…and these precious 3 kids’ mom. Now, she can proudly display her family portraits around her home that showcase their entire happy family. For this, she is forever grateful.
When you are a family photographer, its wonderful to grow alongside your clients. When I first started to photograph this family, the youngest son was a newborn. Now, 7 years later - this family is high energy and is willing to try anything. One of my super fun families that I am lucky to photograph!
I've known the mom in this family for decades - we went to the same high school. But I've never known her in her role as a mother. She is not only a kind and fun friend but she is a fantastic and present mother to her 3 beautiful children and a true partner to her fabulous husband. I'm so glad that when I returned to my hometown of Washington, DC, I got to join this family for all their family fun as well as captured all the laughs and smiles. I've been friends with this fun and funny family for 4 years now....once they moved in the apartment down the hall from me. We have done so many things together...playdates, sledding, dinners and even an ongoing bookclub. But this time together was the first time I captured them for an official family photography. The results speak for themselves. Red Hook...we love you!
