That’s what this gorgeous family did recently right before they headed west. When you leave…you realize that NYC never leaves you. Its a city that touches your heart deeply. If you can’t readily be inside to celebrate a Jewish milestone, as Tim Gunn (of Project Runway fame) famously says “Make It Work”. I love that this family pivoted their bat mitzvah plans and celebrated in a low key but super fun way at a local park….Brooklyn Bridge Park. It was a beautiful day with a gorgeous backdrop. And the most happy bat mitzvah girl celebrating her enormous achievement with dear friends and family. To me, it was perfection.

Its always a time to celebrate…especially major milestones like a bar and bat mitzvah. With Covid, I have gotten to photograph some amazing alternative bar/bat mitzvahs. Although they were smaller than originally planned, they were intimate and full of love. And so very memorable.

I love when a family expands by welcoming a new and precious baby into their home. Now with 2 daughters, this mom and dad are so very grateful. They know that they are creating such a fulfilling and fantastic life together as a proud family of 4!  And you really can't beat those smiles!

This past 18 months have been tough on all of us.  But when I see a couple transitioning into their next phase of life - when they decide to grow a family - I know there is hope and love for all of us in the future.  That's what happened when I met this wonderful couple.  They can't wait to meet their sweet bundle of joy in a few weeks.  And I know that there will be much more love and happiness in the world because of him and the lovely life they will create as a family!
